From the Izuba washing station in Kayanza, this natural Red Bourbon impressed us with its flavours of juicy orange, berries and wine gum chewiness. 

PRODUCER NOTES

Izuba means sun in Kirundi and is located in Runinya, close to Kibira National Park where the climate and soil are ideal for coffee production. The station works with smallholder farmers from the surrounding hills, including Mugoyi, and operates with support from Raw Material Burundi. Around 250 seasonal workers are employed during the harvest, with premiums paid based on final cup quality. This focus on quality and traceability contributes to expressive, fruit-forward coffees and a stronger return for local producers.
